This program adds a whole new set of parameters to sustainible analysis. Up until now the emphasis has been placed on energy load. Now we look at many other issues that are in fact real that must be considered when designing sustainably. Now we are introduced to the concept that Economic and environmental analysis can go hand in hand. Bees even allows us to differ the weight given to each factor. In addition, it breaks down environmental factors into catagories such as human health, embodied energy and fossil fuel consumption. In real life it is the interplay and sometimes the struggle between these factors that determines environmental policy. My only gripe is that perhaps it contains too many variables in environmental analysis. Perhaps this has to do with my own unfamiliarity with things such as embodied energy and such. The units used for analysis are sometimes obscure, and if it wasnt for the graphs would be completely meaningless. Still, it gives abroader picture of the true costs of different sustainible practices.
